MARITIME MUSEUM VISIT

WOW....what an exciting day.....off to visit the Maritime Museum. We saw heaps of interesting things on the way there...big buildings, heaps of cars, cranes, diggers,  and the darkness in a tunnel.

Emma our teacher for the day met us. First we tried to make a boat float with tinfoil, then tested it to see if it managed to still float, holding blocks of plasticine in it.
One group's boat managed to hold 6 blocks of plasticine!

The next part of the visit was the boat trip on the Ted Ashby out into the harbour. Like true sailors we helped put up the sails.  Some of us even pretended we were pirates!
Ahoy me hearties!

The next part of the trip was to explore the museum.  So much to see and so much to try our hands at.   We met a man who made model ships, learnt a bit about Sir Peter Bake, stood inside an old sailing ship, turned ships wheels and much, much more.

A big thank you to our lovely parents who came with us. We hope you enjoyed the day too.

  1. Oh Room 4 and Room 5 you were so lucky to get on the sailing ship! We could not get on on Thursday because the weather was too wet and windy. Was it exciting going out onto the harbour on a big sail ship? Did you go under the Harbour Bridge? I am so looking forward to hearing all about it. Perhaps one or two of Room4 fabulous reporters could come to Room 1 to tell us about it?

  2. I can just imagine Room 4 students pretending to be pirates..and Mrs Law too of course! I hope you take Mrs Shinn up on her offer, and share your wonderful experience with the students in Room 1. Maybe you could do some writing for the net newsletter too? Great photos, it's good to see you all had a fun time.

    1. We sure did have lots of fun Maddison's mum. OOooh from the ship called the 'Ted Ashby' we saw SOOOO much.

At the moment during our writing time, we are trying hard to describe to our readers what we saw, how we felt, and what we did, so when Maddison has finished her story she can share it with you.

  4. Are you in need of a great Wisconsin attorney? If you are from Wisconsin and need a great attorney Madison is the best way to go. The state of Wisconsin has few cities and Madison is your best bet if you are looking for a great attorney. houston maritime attorney
