DUFFY BOOKS

Yay.....today we received two Duffy books each. We couldn't wait to open them and start reading.

FROGS READING GROUP

Being able to feel possum fur after reading the book 'TOO MANY POSSUMS' helped us understand why possum fur is used in clothing.
Did you know they were bought to New Zealand many years ago from Australia so their fur could be used in clothing?
We learnt possums are PESTS and we don't like them!

Estimating and Measuring

During maths we explored volume. 

We worked with a buddy and estimated how many multilink cubes would fill different containers, then we counted accurately to see how many cubes filled each one. 

We found it really tricky to estimate. Some of us counted really accurately.

Tomorrow, Thursday we are going to have another go at this activity by ourselves.

Everyone thought this was a fun maths lesson.

READING - ASKING AN EXPERT

After reading a lovely book about Samoa, the WETAS reading group task was to ask the gorgeous Mrs Batchelor, our 'EXPERT' questions.

HOW WONDERFUL.....to have such an EXPERT to help answer questions, furthering the children's understanding.

Developmental Time -Making a Good Choice
